Pop Up Grocer offers a carefully selected selection of innovative grocery items

Staring at rows of nut butters in a crowded Whole Foods aisle, brand marketing consultant and publicist Emily Schildt had an “aha” moment, witnessing firsthand the difficulties both consumers and novice product creators face when it comes to finding new and unique products.

“I was working with an alternative brand of nut butter, and we tested the packaging to see how it would stand out,” says Scheldt. the new era. “When I’m standing there, I realize how hard it is to see this butter in what looked like a sea of over 20 volumes. Although we designed the packaging to be bright and inviting, it was all lost in that shelving.”

At that moment, Schilt began pitching the idea of Pop Up Grocer, the premiere grocery destination to try out unique and promising consumer packaged goods.

“The idea was to create an environment in which these new entrants to the market could gain the high visibility they needed to grow their products into viable businesses.”

Three years later, Pop Up Grocer offers consumers a way to find dozens of innovative new brands in natural foods and beverages, and home, pet and body care. Going forward, the pop-up retailer – which will continue to explore new cities every quarter – will be used to target places where Scheldt decides to open permanent pop-up grocery locations.

Having gained pop-up experiences in New York, Los Angeles, Austin, and Chicago, Pop Up Grocer is taking its beloved brands to Miami’s newest itinerant retailer. The one-of-a-kind shopping experience will be available starting Friday, January 28, and running through Sunday, February 27, at a pop-up retailer located at 171 NW 23rd Street in Miami.

“We are thrilled to be heading to Miami for the 2022 season and look forward to satisfying the appetites of those looking for something equally exciting in the grocery store,” says Scheldt. “We go to communities that want us, and Miami is a growing market for natural foods as well as health and wellness. It’s a perfect match.”

In true Wynwood fashion, the Miami store will be designed by Chaz Capobianco, owner of Miami-based Capoco design studio, and Elizabeth Jaime, Miami-based fashion designer and florist. Pop Up Grocer is also collaborating with local baker Fernanda Quintero (@na.cooks), who will offer an a la carte bakery menu on site.

Dedicated to connecting with consumers in a new and unique way, Pop Up Grocer brings all of Instagram’s hottest brands under one roof in your favorite cities, says Scheldt.

Unlike a traditional grocery retail setup, pop-up shoppers can explore and discover a wide range of packaged goods for emerging consumers. As with all Pop Up Grocer stores, expect your Pop Up Grocer’s Miami selection to feature a selection of all-natural products, many of which are vegan and sugar-sweetened.

To be a part of Pop Up Grocer, products must display creative and innovative products, source ingredients responsibly, and offer attractive or unique packaging.

In Miami, this includes more than 130 products from emerging brands, most of which are women-owned. They include products from Get Golden, Brainiac, the Good Ritual, Agua Bonita, Fly by Jing, Figlia and Actual Veggies.

“Our goal is not just to sell, but to make and highlight these brands by getting them in front of people who might not find them otherwise,” says Scheldt.

Part of that mission includes the fund, the philanthropic arm of Pop Up Grocer, through which 5 percent of in-store sales from every single brand pop-up site is donated to be used in a targeted relaunch that includes new marketing and packaging design, among other services. .

Can’t get to the market? The Pop Up Grocer website sells $40 boxes that offer customers a selection of eight items.
