The vintage design harkens back to exploitation and 1960s movie posters with a thick white border, grain, and a minimalist look. That could mean Scream You’ll honor its origins as a commentary on classic slasher films while also exemplifying modern slasher flair, such as Ghostface that uses a flamethrower. On the other hand, it could mean the movie is going to do something completely different – or maybe it’s just a cool concept.
The classic killer camouflage, seen in trailers and other marketing pieces, also contrasts with the metallic mask that adorns the Ghostface flamethrower. This element lends credence to fans’ speculation that Scream It could again feature multiple killers, another clue to the original movie. unlike Halloween reboot / sequel, however, Scream They won’t remake his sequels, so directors Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett can use anything at their disposal to surprise audiences. Even if the poster doesn’t hint at anything that’s in the story, it’s still a great homage to older genre films.
