Our workshops have enabled more than half a million young Australians to stand up rather than stand by them. PROJECT ROCKIT is also the official safety partner for Google, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, raising the voices of young people to those in a direct position to engineer a kind world online.

As the Director of Support and Digital Content, you will work primarily as our in-house designer, responsible for developing inspiring and creative assets aligned with the mission, tone and voice of PROJECT ROCKIT. Your strong technical skills in design (hello Adobe!) and engaging communications enable you to thrive in environments that demand imagination, storytelling, and bring to life a creative campaign.

You will work closely with our external digital marketing provider to provide ongoing design support, while internally you will support a motivated team with a range of digital goals including creating and publishing digital collateral, website management, SEO and marketing campaigns, and driving the engagement of our online community.

When it comes to managing PROJECT ROCKIT’s social media presence, you’re a digital native with hands-on experience working across a range of social media platforms (including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter). Your ability to effectively engage a diverse range of stakeholders and your understanding of online trends and key issues of concern to youth will be of paramount importance in achieving broader communications goals.

Your passion for building inclusive online communities, combined with your awareness of the key issues of PROJECT ROCKIT, will enable you to increase awareness of our brand in schools, positioning the organization as a leading voice on the issues we deal with. As an organized and lateral thinker, your ability to create creative solutions and coordinate high-quality creative assets enables you to thrive in this role coordinating PROJECT ROCKIT’s digital presence.

The main selection criteria

  1. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (mainly Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) for creating brand images, digital marketing flyers and creating print materials.
  2. Passionate about supporting positive societal outcomes as evidenced by past experience supporting social impact initiatives, youth-led projects, or community organizations
  3. Loves the internet and lives and breathes youth culture (hello memes) – the type of person who can identify new trends, content opportunities, and is passionate about improving content for our key audiences (youth and educators)
  4. Excellent copywriting and communication skills with the ability to independently create and source digital content (social media posts, blogs, influence campaigns) for a range of audiences that embody the voice of PROJECT ROCKIT
  5. Passion for learning and keeping up with trends in social media, digital marketing and communications
  6. Demonstrate the ability to bring brand guidance to life by creating a unified, exciting and unique brand identity
  7. A creative, innovative and collaborative person who can work across multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  8. Site maintenance experience


  • Photography, animation and video editing skills
  • Experience or deep understanding of using Facebook Ads, Google Analytics, AdWords, and SEO in a professional environment

Basic Responsibilities

Interior design and creative content

  • Helping an external digital marketing provider create school marketing collateral
  • Design digital assets for school workshops – slide sets, posts, individual pieces of personalized content (eg realistic but fictional Photoshop models for cyberbullying scenarios)
  • Producing high quality creative social media and branding in a way that translates the positive impact of our work to a range of audiences (eg teens, educators, partners)
  • Deliver key communication, digital and design assets to various stakeholders and partnerships
  • Source and create storytelling assets that translate the positive impact of PROJECT ROCKIT into powerful tools for engagement, awareness, advocacy, and evaluation of the effectiveness of these tools

Social media and website management

  • Develop, manage and modify PROJECT ROCKIT social media platforms and establish connections with other like-minded organizations online for mutual promotion of content
  • Work collaboratively with the PROJECT ROCKIT team, partners and the community to deliver grassroots, youth-oriented digital content in line with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Create and implement a digital content plan (paid and membership) designed to highlight our core activities, inform and inspire our community, and grow our social media following
  • Implement and review SEO analytics regularly as a primary source for creating campaigns that meet the needs of our clients
  • Administration, maintenance, hosting and management of the PROJECT ROCKIT website
  • Managing BigMarker’s web-based learning platform for online workshops
  • Manage our internal employee portal to make sure content is up to date
  • Measure key activity and KPIs and provide monthly reports to the leadership team
  • Manage proactive and reactive media requests, contact journalists and identify media opportunities for key moments
