Suffolk Police investigate social media threat to Kings Fork High School

Police do not believe the threat was credible.

Suffolk, Virginia (Wavy) – Police are investigating Suffolk after a student posted a threatening letter towards King’s Fork High School on social media.

According to police, the message was reported Thursday morning. They responded to the school for the school as a precaution during the investigation.

Derek Bryant, the school’s principal, confirmed that the student who made the threat was not on campus after receiving the threatening letter.

Police do not believe the threat was credible.

The following message was sent to the Kings Fork families on Thursday:

I would like to assure you that the safety of every student and employee is my top priority. We work hard for

or an employee when they learn of a situation that could threaten the safety of the school. We highly encourage
All students, staff and parents to communicate information with school officials and law enforcement.
