What does the Google optimized autocomplete box mean for SEO

Sometime in December, SEO experts started noticing that Google was testing a new feature within its search box.

It’s an extended version of the box we call the Enhanced AutoComplete Box.

In the right column of the box, Google pulls out the top three People also ask questions, and a People are also looking for Section introduces several related terms and entities.

While there is a wealth of information, most news outlets and blogs are reframing what the box is and how they got there.

But this is not the fault of these publishers.

That’s all the smarts out there for now, since this is clearly just a beta test that Google wasn’t willing to comment on yet.

At the same time, the information provided by the new autocomplete feature is clear to industry experts.

Many SEO professionals may have noticed the new feature and think they know what Google is up to.

We may not have the full story yet, but I have an idea of ​​where Google might take this.

There is a way that SEO experts can take advantage of the improved autocomplete to perform keyword research and topic search.

What is Google’s enhanced autocomplete function

First, let’s cover what the new improved autocomplete box actually is.

At this point, anyone can claim to know exactly what the enhanced autocomplete box is and how it can be used.

But I think I can extrapolate to what the box is supposed to represent.

Since Google gives me these results, it assumes some things about my query, i.e. I want to eat pizza now.

If so, here are a few options I can try (like DoorDash), and it’s a convenient way to get them too.

But what if you were a new pizza franchisee that wanted to rival Domino’s and Papa John’s? What if you also want to go into the Google Enhanced Autocomplete box to get a file [pizza] Query in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania?

If I was good at digital marketing, I would look at those companies’ websites to see what their meta information looked like, what they were using their H1s for, and how they optimized their pages for SEO and user experience.

I was looking at how easy it is to order pizza from their location or find one near me.

In the classic SEO technique, we can use Google’s choices to discover what types of results a search engine really wants to see.

The pizza example above is a particularly interesting example of keyword research because Google gave us some search competitors that don’t even show up in my organic results.

As I continue to say, this is clear.

But what about the topic of research?

I don’t think there are any particularly great discoveries to illustrate this.
