Even with many industries laying off people in the pandemic, companies from Apple to WPP are hiring the best advertising and marketing talent to improve their image and promote their products.

Advertising and related services employed 447,300 workers in August, up 3.2% from a year ago, according to BLS data.

Spotify offered employees with US work visas in marketing roles annual base salaries ranging from $94,000 to $190,000.

Netflix marketing roles can reach $330,000

The company’s resilience despite the pandemic and increased competition has helped make it one of the most sought-after places to work in technology.

This person has been appointed to a variety of positions, from marketers in Seoul to animators roles in Los Angeles. Unlike other tech companies, they do not pay performance bonuses, but rather pay high salaries.

Based on the data, Netflix offered annual base salaries ranging from $68,000 to $850,000, with an average of $345,000 for various roles.

Creative directors are among the highest paid roles in advertising holding companies like WPP

With advertising spending returning, the largest agencies are looking for CEOs to fill top positions such as new business chiefs, managing directors, healthcare and e-commerce professionals.

WPP paid ad planners up to $180,000 and creative managers over $200,000, for example.

Public relations specialists are among the industry’s biggest drivers

The PR industry is ramping up hiring in hot areas such as data, crisis management, and healthcare consulting.

Edelman, the largest PR firm by revenue, paid EVP up to $280,000, while senior executives at company-owned holding companies like Ketchum earned up to $500,000.

Healthcare is required, and salaries show that. The FTI paid a senior health advisor $108,000, for example.
