About us

The Australian-American Fulbright commission is a non-profit scholarships foundation operating exclusively between Australia and the United States. Sponsored by the US and Australian governments and other institutional and business partners, private bequests and endowments, Fulbright has promoted bilateral educational and cultural exchange between Australia and the US over the past 70 years with the aim of increasing mutual understanding and strengthening relations between the two countries.

The role

The Fulbright Commission is seeking an enthusiastic and self-starter professional to join their team as the Communications and Alumni Manager. This role puts you in the driver’s seat, leading communications for Australia’s largest, oldest, and most prestigious bilateral exchange programs — Fulbright Australia.

The manager is responsible for:

  • Management of all digital communications platforms, including content development and design development of all Commission publications.
  • development, execution and evaluation of the Commission’s communications strategy, including advertising/promotion, branding (visual identity) and content marketing.
  • Evaluation and management of the Fulbright alumni community, alumni engagement and enrichment of the post-Fulbright experience.

Deliverables for the role include:

  • Design, develop and produce the Commissions publications
  • Design, develop, produce, deliver and manage the Commission’s digital content
  • Manage the Commission’s social media presence. This includes updating content, monitoring platform analytics and responding to enquiries received.
  • manage, update and maintain the Fulbright Commission’s website including content management, functionality and design.
  • Develop and distribute promotional material, digital and print, to promote the Fulbright scholarship program with the aim of attracting consistently high application numbers.
  • Develop and deliver an outreach plan to deliver information sessions to all Australian universities to promote the Fulbright program with the aim of attracting consistently high application numbers.
  • Refine and execute the existing Alumni Strategy to engage the Fulbright alumni community for enrichment of the post-Fulbright experience.
  • In consultation with the Executive Director, develop and deliver a communications strategy and alumni strategy.
