The Organization:

The Group Health Center is a progressive multi-speciality ambulatory care health care organization, and is one of Canada’s first consumer-sponsored health care facilities. As Ontario’s largest and longest-established alternatively funded healthcare organization, Group Health Center serves over 70,000 Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District Residents. The Trust Fund raises funds towards the purchase and upgrade of medical equipment at GHC.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Trust Fund Manager, the Senior Fundraising Coordinator provides
activity and communications support to the Trust Fund campaigns and fund raising events:

  • The planning and coordination of events meant to raise funds and coordinate activities of volunteers and interns related to event planning and execution
  • Manage all non-charitable applications and gaming licenses through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
  • Develop and implement social media and email marketing strategies relating to events and activities
  • Website Content Creation and Maintenance
  • Plan and monitor advertising and promotional activities
  • Assist with developing and implementing a program for donor recruitment and retention

The Ideal Candidate will Possess:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Business, Communications, Philanthropy, Event Planning or related discipline
  • 3-5 years’ experience in event planning, marketing, communications and/or social media management
  • Knowledge and practice of the functions, operations and best practices within a Trust Fund or Foundation is a definite asset
  • Well-developed understanding and skill in developing/maintaining social media and intranet/internet platforms
  • High level of technical literacy with Microsoft Suite, Excel and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Developed skill in creating brand identity conveyed through written and visual and digital mediums
  • Skill and experience in public relations and networking
  • Strong time management, prioritization skills and meticulous record keeping skills
  • Well-developed ability to successfully manage multiple initiatives and meet critical deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain successful working relationships, ability to meet with people responsible in a pleasant, professional, and manner, both in person and on the telephone using contact, and courtesy
  • Excellent team member skills; Able to Mentor Junior MEMBERS of The Team
  • Demonstrated Success in Living The Values ​​of GHC


The salary range is $60,000 to $65,000 commensurate with experience, with a generous
benefit package, pension plan, vacation and leave provision.
