Digital Marketing Manager | The Journal of Music

We are looking for an individual to join our team as an independent contractor specializing in digital marketing. Responsibilities will include basic marketing for DIY concerts taking place in Unit 44 as well as in-depth campaigns for larger-scale Kirkos projects.

Kirkos is a new music group focused on high-concept performances and on trying to develop the ecosystem that thrives at the fringes of Irish new music. Many of our projects include extra-musical elements, with influences from theater, visual art and performance art heavily present. Kirkos is made up of musicians in their late twenties, who mostly studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and was directed by Sebastian Adams with Robert Coleman as artistic advisor. Everything Kirkos does pursues a larger goal of helping audiences feel, understand and love contemporary music, aiming to develop the audience along with the scene. Kirkos hope their offbeat take on serious new music can be a game-changer for the uninitiated. Since 2012, Kirkos have given 200 premieres, encompassing most of Ireland’s leading composers.

Purpose and Scope of the Contract:
The main areas of responsibility are digital marketing, website maintenance, audience development, developing marketing materials, organising and managing the release of archived content. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the arts, and have strong digital and copywriting skills with excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and to deadline. We are particularly interested in candidates who would relish the chance to promote activities at Unit 44 in fun, “DIY” ways.

The successful candidate will be paid at the rate of €15/hour, with 7 hours guaranteed per week, paid monthly on receipt of an invoice. Work can be done remotely or in the Kirkos office at Unit 44, Stoneybatter. Ideally it would be a mix of the two. Working times will be flexible. This is a part-time short-term contract lasting until 1 August 2022, at which point a new contract can be signed by mutual agreement. The job title is Digital Marketing Manager.
