‘Girls’ Night Out’ Events Still Happening In Millburn Room for Rain

MILLBURN, NJ — Girls’ Night Out, a popular entertainment, dining, and shopping event in Millburn/Short Hills for many years, returns from this Friday through Sunday, despite the rain. (See an event map below.)

Part of Main Street will be closed off through Sunday afternoon for outdoor dining, depending on the weather.

In honor of Mother’s Day, the events will take place from this Friday (May 6) from 5-8 pm in downtown Millburn, as well as satellite locations in Short Hills, rain or shine. All entertainment has been moved indoors, and the stilt walker has been canceled.

There will also be special shopping deals through Sunday.

The event is focused on Health, Wellness, Beauty and Fashion, and many restaurants will be participating as well.

Explore Millburn-Short Hills (the Special Improvement District or “SID” for the town) is co-hosting the event with the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce.

Visitors can expect to enjoy discounts at local shops, special classes and restaurant specials. Over 50 businesses are participating including Jia Boutique, Elements For Style, Club Pilates Short Hills, Evolve Med Spa, Icebox Cryotherapy, Amazing Lash Studio, Spurge Bakery, Shala’s Boutique, Taste Buddy, Cara Mia, and Basilico.

Pop-up shops from the Millburn Short Hills Chamber of Commerce will also be located in Downtown Millburn as part of Girls’ Night Out.

Entertainment will include living statues, DJs, psychic readings, poetry, interactive art experiences and more. Models wearing pink sashes will be showcasing hair and make-up by local salons and serving as guides for the evening.

Visitors can also enjoy outdoor dining (weather permitting) on ​​a closed portion of Main Street and
the recently opened Millburn Art Alley located at 321 Millburn Ave.

Maps and visitor guides are available on the website and will be available at all participating shops and restaurants the evening of the event.

A special Mother’s Day shopping promotion will take place through Sunday, May 8. For every $50 spent at each participating shop, patrons will have a chance to win one of 5 gift baskets valued at $150 or more. The baskets will contain gifts from the five districts of the SID and one of the
baskets will be comprised of gifts from members of the Millburn Short-Hills Chamber of Commerce. For a chance to win, receipts from qualifying purchases must be submitted to Explore Millburn-Short Hills by 11:59 pm, Sunday, May 8.

“Explore Millburn-Short Hills was created during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and we are so excited to bring this pre-pandemic event back bigger and better than ever,” said Executive Director, Steve Grillo.

“Explore” is an independent 501c3 non-profit organization that serves as the Special Improvement District (SID) for the town. Established by the Township Committee in August 2020, the SID encompasses five distinct commercial areas and serves nearly 500 businesses.

In addition, according to the town, Main Street between Essex Street and Millburn Avenue will close to vehicular traffic from 4 pm Friday through 4 pm Sunday.
