Job description

King James Digital – Part of Accenture Song, is seeking an amazing MW (Conceptual) Copywriter to join their Team Social; specialising in building online communities and innovative social/digital campaigns for the world’s leading brands. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting consistently great content and conceptual social campaigns through applied thinking and an understanding of digital communication.

Responsibilities (but no limited to):

  • Craft copy that’s suited to social formats without sacrificing it’s quality
  • Work closely with the creative teams (ie designers, art directors etc.); share views and contribute constructively
  • Collaborate with the broader members of the King James Group to bring value and cohesion
  • Listen to understand the brief to ensure clarity before undertaking tasks and seek solutions
  • Understand the importance of on-brand writing and adapting different tone of voice for different clients
  • Work on small, medium and large projects and invested in final product
  • Understand relevant social media platforms and tools and understand the fundamentals of great content marketing
  • Ability to learn (quickly) the latest social media formats, trends and social behaviors of the audience to adapt work and ensure it is relevant
  • Appreciation of creative strategy and curiosity about how businesses work
  • Capable of presenting ideas and concepts articulately and confidently to the team
  • Able to practice cross-channel thinking and contribute creative solutions
  • Able to come up with exciting and unique ways to manipulate formats and platforms to create ground-breaking work
  • Ability to advise juniors and offer support
  • Proofread copy to ensure there are no spelling/grammar/tonal errors
  • Provide relevant and reasonable feedback and give input
  • Strategic thinking, analyze situations and respond with solutions
  • Keep abreast of advertising trends within industry best practices

Finance & Operations Responsibilities:

  • Understand business context and support Project Management with time estimates
  • Accountable for (your) timesheets and an appreciation of the link to accurate cost & billing
  • Keep within project and retainer budgets that inform scope of copy
  • Raise red flags that may impact budget with relevant people at the time they’re spotted
  • Assist in managing client expectations through Project Management/Client Service
  • Ability to multitask – work across multiple projects where appropriate and consistently complete work on time
  • Keep all parties involved and informed and pre-empt problems before they become a major issue
  • Contribute to co-ordinating, delegating and supporting juniors on different projects
  • Adhere to team processes and standards, respectful of time

Client Responsibilities:

  • Clear and concise response to internal and client briefs
  • Understand client’s business context and filter work through a lens linked to business objectives
  • Identify creative opportunities and digital solutions that meet client needs
  • Work across multiple projects and consistently deliver concepts and content that’s on-brand
  • Understand how businesses work and keep abreast of relevant industry trends across these verticals
  • Responsible for ensuring a brand-appropriate tone of voice through all digital communication

Qualifications / Requirements / Skills

  • Tertiary qualification in Copywriting / Digital Copywriting
  • Proficient in MS Office (ie Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Minimum 3 years working experience as a Copywriter in an Advertising Agency / Digital Advertising Agency
  • TTL & Digital experience is essential (well versed in Digital)
  • Sound knowledge and experience in digital writing, an interest in industry trends (ie Twitter spaces and the metaverse) and an understanding of principles and best practice
  • Thorough understanding of social platforms and paid formats
  • Own social account or regularly consumes social media and is familiar with TikTok or curious about it (beneficial)
  • An excellent command of the English language (both verbal and written)
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong multitasking skills (ability to work on multiple campaigns/briefs at any given time)
  • Portfolio demonstrating TTL & Digital work
