Antigua brings unique Carnival vibes through Movie Towne in Trinidad

Antigua and Barbuda: There were lots of happy faces at Movie Towne, in Trinidad as the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Creative Industries and Innovation treated visitors to the mall with a taste of Antigua’s culture and Carnival, through music, local sweets – coconut tart, masa harris tart, peppermint sticks, coconut slice-up, peanut cake, Antigua Cavalier rum punch and mas with costumes provided by Insane Carnival and Exclusive Mas.

Visitors came out and danced to the local sounds of Antigua’s soca artists, engaged with the team, partner – Caribbean Airlines, and enquired on hotel and Carnival packages as well as the easy travel protocols. They were also quick to sign up for a chance to win a trip for two to Antigua’s Carnival.

Antiguans and Barbudans living in Trinidad were excited to see the Antigua team promoting the Carnival celebrations and bringing the unique Antigua carnival vibes to the Trinidadian community.

Visitors left the Taste of Antigua Carnival presentation eager for more, and ready to travel to Antigua.

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority alongside the Ministry of Creative Industries and Innovation had been creating a hive of excitement about Antigua’s Carnival within Trinidad.

Leading up to this weekend’s visit to the key regional market, adverts announcing the return of the summer festival were already hitting the airwaves, and print publications with features in newspapers and on Caribbean Airline’s in-flight magazine.

The team led by ABTA Marketing Consultant for the Caribbean and Latin America Charmaine Spencer made in-person and call-in appearances on Trinidad television and radio sharing news on Antigua and Barbuda’s easy travel protocols and tourism developments. Promoting the return of the Summer Festival, and attractive summer offers was also high on the agenda as a big draw for regional visitors.

During an Antigua Carnival-themed brunch, presentations were also made to over twenty members of the travel trade and again the media who joined the ABTA and MCII team with Roger Perry Marketing and Public Relations Manager to hear about the destination and new carnival schedule. Tomorrow the team will target consumers directly with a full day of promotions at popular mall in Trinidad, Movie Towne, and reignite the spirit of Carnival.

Consumers will be able to see costumes on offer from Insane Carnival and Exclusive Mas, and find out more about the Carnival and destination. They will also be able to sign up to Win a Trip for two, to Antigua’s Carnival: The Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival.
